Ali bin Husayn reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to travel through the day, he would combine Dhuhr and Asr. And when he intended to travel through the night, he would combine Maghrib and Isha.

حدثني عن مالك، أنه بلغه

عن علي بن حسين، أنه كان يقول

كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أراد أن يسير يومه، جمع بين الظهر والعصر. وإذا أراد أن يسير ليلة؛ جمع بين المغرب والعشاء.
