They set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of Tabuk, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would combine Dhuhr with Asr, and Maghrib with Isha.The narrator said that one day he delayed the prayer, then came out and prayed Dhuhr and Asr together. Then he went inside, came out again, and prayed Maghrib and Isha together.Then he said, "Tomorrow, Allah willing, you will reach the spring of Tabuk. You will not reach it before the day has grown hot, so whoever gets there must not touch any of its water until I arrive."We came to it, and two men had gotten there ahead of us. The spring was trickling with only a little water.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them, "Have you touched any of its water?"They said, "Yes."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rebuked them and said to them what Allah willed him to say.Then the people scooped up water from the spring with their hands, a little at a time, until enough had collected in a vessel. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his face and hands in it, then poured it back into the spring, and the spring flowed with abundant water, so the people drank their fill.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Muaz, if your life is long enough, you may well see this place filled with gardens."
و حدثني عن مالك عن أبي الزبير المكي عن أبي الطفيل عامر بن واثلة أن
أنهم خرجوا مع رسول الله ﷺ عام تبوك فكان رسول الله ﷺ يجمع بين الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء قال فأخر الصلاة يوما ثم خرج فصلى الظهر والعصر جميعا ثم دخل ثم خرج فصلى المغرب والعشاء جميعا ثم قال إنكم ستأتون غدا إن شاء الله عين تبوك وإنكم لن تأتوها حتى يضحى النهار فمن جاءها فلا يمس من مائها شيئا حتى آتي فجئناها وقد سبقنا إليها رجلان والعين تبض بشيء من ماء فسألهما رسول الله ﷺ هل مسستما من مائها شيئا فقالا نعم فسبهما رسول الله ﷺ وقال لهما ما شاء الله أن يقول ثم غرفوا بأيديهم من العين قليلا قليلا حتى اجتمع في شيء ثم غسل رسول الله ﷺ فيه وجهه ويديه ثم أعاده فيها فجرت العين بماء كثير فاستقى الناس ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ يوشك يا معاذ إن طالت بك حياة أن ترى ما هاهنا قد ملئ جنانا
