The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray sitting, reciting while seated, and when about thirty or forty verses of his recitation remained, he would stand and recite the rest standing, then bow and prostrate. He would then do the same in the second rakat.
و حدثني عن مالك عن عبد الله بن يزيد المدني وعن أبي النضر عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يصلي جالسا فيقرأ وهو جالس فإذا بقي من قراءته قدر ما يكون ثلاثين أو أربعين آية قام فقرأ وهو قائم ثم ركع وسجد ثم صنع في الركعة الثانية مثل ذلك
