A man died during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and someone remarked, "How fortunate for him! He died without ever being tested by illness."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Woe to you! How do you know? Perhaps if Allah had tested him with an illness, He would have wiped away some of his sins through it."
و حدثني عن مالك
أن رجلا جاءه الموت في زمان رسول الله ﷺ فقال رجل هنيئا له مات ولم يبتل بمرض فقال رسول الله ﷺ ويحك وما يدريك لو أن الله ابتلاه بمرض يكفر به عنه من سيئاته
