Humayd bin Malik bin Khuthaym reported,

I was sitting with Abu Hurairah on his land at Aqeeq when a group of people from Madinah came to him riding mounts. They dismounted there with him.Humayd said that Abu Hurairah told him, "Go to my mother and say, your son sends you greetings of peace and asks you to give us something to eat."Humayd continued, "So she placed three loaves in a dish along with a little oil and salt. I set it on my head and carried it out to them. When I put it down in front of them, Abu Hurairah exclaimed, 'Allah is the greatest!' and said, 'Praise be to Allah, who has filled us with bread after a time when our only food was the two black things, water and dates.'"The group did not touch any of the food. When they had left, Abu Hurairah said, "Nephew, treat your sheep well. Wipe the mucus from their noses, keep their resting place clean, and pray in a corner of their pen, for they are among the animals of Paradise. By Him in whose hand my soul rests, a time is soon coming upon people when a small flock of sheep will be dearer to its owner than the house of Marwan."

و حدثني عن مالك عن محمد بن عمرو بن حلحلة

عن حميد بن مالك بن خثيم أنه قال

كنت جالسا مع أبي هريرة بأرضه بالعقيق فأتاه قوم من أهل المدينة على دواب فنزلوا عنده قال حميد فقال أبو هريرة اذهب إلى أمي فقل إن ابنك يقرئك السلام ويقول أطعمينا شيئا قال فوضعت ثلاثة أقراص في صحفة وشيئا من زيت وملح ثم وضعتها على رأسي وحملتها إليهم فلما وضعتها بين أيديهم كبر أبو هريرة وقال الحمد لله الذي أشبعنا من الخبز بعد أن لم يكن طعامنا إلا الأسودين الماء والتمر فلم يصب القوم من الطعام شيئا فلما انصرفوا قال يا ابن أخي أحسن إلى غنمك وامسح الرعام عنها وأطب مراحها وصل في ناحيتها فإنها من دواب الجنة والذي نفسي بيده ليوشك أن يأتي على الناس زمان تكون الثلة من الغنم أحب إلى صاحبها من دار مروان
