Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan said while he was on the pulpit, "People, no one can withhold what Allah has given, and no one can give what Allah has withheld. No one's fortune avails him against Allah. Whomever Allah wishes good for, He gives him understanding of the religion."Then Muawiya said, "I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon this very wood."
و حدثني عن مالك عن يزيد بن زياد
قال معاوية بن أبي سفيان وهو على المنبر أيها الناس إنه لا مانع لما أعطى الله ولا معطي لما منع الله ولا ينفع ذا الجد منه الجد من يرد الله به خيرا يفقهه في الدين ثم قال معاوية سمعت هؤلاء الكلمات من رسول الله ﷺ على هذه الأعواد
