I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "I have been commanded to go to a town that devours all other towns. People call it Yathrib, but it is Madinah. It drives out the wicked as the bellows drives the dross from iron."
و حدثني مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد أنه قال سمعت أبا الحباب سعيد بن يسار يقول
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول أمرت بقرية تأكل القرى يقولون يثرب وهي المدينة تنفي الناس كما ينفي الكير خبث الحديد
