He was sitting with Abdullah bin Umar during the time of civil strife when a freedwoman of his came to greet him and said, "I have decided to leave, Abu Abdul-Rahman. Times have become hard for us."Abdullah bin Umar said to her, "Sit down, you foolish woman. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one endures its hardship and difficulty without my being an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection.'"
حدثني يحيى عن مالك عن قطن بن وهب بن عمير بن الأجدع أن
أنه كان جالسا عند عبد الله بن عمر في الفتنة فأتته مولاة له تسلم عليه فقالت إني أردت الخروج يا أبا عبد الرحمن اشتد علينا الزمان فقال لها عبد الله بن عمر اقعدي لكع فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يصبر على لأوائها وشدتها أحد إلا كنت له شفيعا أو شهيدا يوم القيامة
