Umar bin Khattab fixed the blood money for the people of the towns, setting it at a thousand dinar for those who dealt in gold and twelve thousand dirham for those who dealt in silver.
أن عمر بن الخطاب قوم الدية على أهل القرى، فجعلها على أهل الذهب ألف دينار، وعلى أهل الورق اثني عشر ألف درهم.
