Malik reported,

A woman who had given birth after six months of pregnancy was brought before Uthman bin Affan, and he ordered that she be stoned.Ali bin Abu Talib said to him, "She does not deserve that. Allah تبارك وتعالى says in His Book, "and his bearing and his weaning take thirty months" [Ahqaf 46:15], and He also says, "Mothers shall nurse their children two full years, for whoever wishes to complete the nursing" [Baqarah 2:233]. So the pregnancy may last six months, and there is no stoning for her."Uthman bin Affan then sent someone after her, but he found that she had already been stoned.
