Abu Waqid reported,

While Umar bin Khattab was in Syria, a man came to him and told him that he had found another man with his wife. Umar sent Abu Waqid Laythi to the woman to question her about it.Abu Waqid went to her and found her with a group of women around her. He told her what her husband had said to Umar bin Khattab, and informed her that she would not be held accountable on the basis of her husband's word alone. He kept prompting her with such hints so that she would retract, but she refused to retract and persisted in her confession. So Umar gave the order concerning her, and she was stoned.

عن أبي واقد الليثي

أن عمر بن الخطاب أتاه رجل وهو بالشام فذكر له أنه وجد مع امرأته رجلا فبعث عمر بن الخطاب أبا واقد الليثي إلى امرأته يسألها عن ذلك فأتاها وعندها نسوة حولها فذكر لها الذي قال زوجها لعمر بن الخطاب وأخبرها أنها لا تؤخذ بقوله وجعل يلقنها أشباه ذلك لتنزع فأبت أن تنزع وتمت على الاعتراف فأمر بها عمر فرجمت
