Yazid bin Abdul-Malik separated certain men from their wives. These women had been slave mothers of children by men who had died, and the men married them after one or two menstrual cycles. So he separated them until the women should complete a waiting period of four months and ten days.Qasim bin Muhammad said, "Glory be to Allah! Allah says in His Book, 'And those of you who die and leave wives behind' [Baqarah 2:234]. These women are not wives."
حدثني يحيى عن مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد أنه قال
إن يزيد بن عبد الملك فرق بين رجال وبين نسائهم وكن أمهات أولاد رجال هلكوا فتزوجوهن بعد حيضة أو حيضتين ففرق بينهم حتى يعتددن أربعة أشهر وعشرا فقال القاسم بن محمد سبحان الله يقول الله في كتابه {والذين يتوفون منكم ويذرون أزواجا} ما هن من الأزواج
