Saaib bin Khabab passed away, and his wife came to Abdullah bin Umar. She told him of her husband's death and mentioned a field they owned at Qanah, and she asked him whether it would be acceptable for her to spend the night there. He forbade her from doing so. So she would leave Madinah just before dawn and arrive at their field by morning, remaining there through the day, and then she would return to Madinah when evening came and spend the night in her own house.
و حدثني عن مالك
أن السائب بن خباب توفي وإن امرأته جاءت إلى عبد الله بن عمر فذكرت له وفاة زوجها وذكرت له حرثا لهم بقناة وسألته هل يصلح لها أن تبيت فيه فنهاها عن ذلك فكانت تخرج من المدينة سحرا فتصبح في حرثهم فتظل فيه يومها ثم تدخل المدينة إذا أمست فتبيت في بيتها
