He was asked about a woman whose husband dies while she is pregnant. Abdullah bin Umar said, "Once she delivers her child, she is free to marry."A man from the Ansar who was present with him then informed him that Umar bin Khattab had said, "Even if she gave birth while her husband was still lying on his bed, not yet buried, she would be free to marry."

أنه سئل عن المرأة يتوفى عنها زوجها وهي حامل فقال عبد الله بن عمر إذا وضعت حملها فقد حلت فأخبره رجل من الأنصار كان عنده أن عمر بن الخطاب قال لو وضعت وزوجها على سريره لم يدفن بعد لحلت
