He asked Qasim bin Muhammad about a man who pronounced divorce upon a woman should he marry her. Qasim bin Muhammad replied that a man had declared a woman to be like his own mother's back should he marry her, and Umar bin Khattab instructed him that if he did marry her, he was not to approach her until he had made the expiation required of one who makes such a declaration.

أنه سأل القاسم بن محمد عن رجل طلق امرأة إن هو تزوجها فقال القاسم بن محمد إن رجلا جعل امرأة عليه كظهر أمه إن هو تزوجها فأمره عمر بن الخطاب إن هو تزوجها أن لا يقربها حتى يكفر كفارة المتظاهر
