The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a dead sheep that he had given to a freedwoman of Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Why did you not make use of its hide?"They replied, "Messenger of Allah, it is dead."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Only eating it has been forbidden."

مر رسول الله ﷺ بشاة ميتة كان أعطاها مولاة لميمونة زوج النبي ﷺ فقال أفلا انتفعتم بجلدها فقالوا يا رسول الله إنها ميتة فقال رسول الله ﷺ إنما حرم أكلها
