When Allah accepted the repentance of Abu Lubabah bin Abdul-Mundhir, he said, "Messenger of Allah, shall I leave the home of my people where I committed the sin, take up residence near you, and give up all my wealth as charity to Allah and His Messenger?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "A third of it will suffice for you."
و حدثني عن مالك عن عثمان بن حفص بن عمر بن خلدة
أن أبا لبابة بن عبد المنذر حين تاب الله عليه قال يا رسول الله أهجر دار قومي التي أصبت فيها الذنب وأجاورك وأنخلع من مالي صدقة إلى الله وإلى رسوله فقال رسول الله ﷺ يجزيك من ذلك الثلث
