Amr bin Jamuh and Abdullah bin Amr, both of the Ansar and of the Banu Salimah, had their grave washed open by a flood torrent, for their grave lay in the path of the water, and the two of them were buried in a single grave. Both had been martyred on the day of Uhud. They were dug up so they could be moved from that spot, and they were found unchanged, as though they had died only yesterday. One of them had been wounded and had placed his hand over his wound, and he was buried like that. His hand was lifted away from the wound and then released, and it went back just as it had been. Between the day of Uhud and the day they were dug up there were forty six years.
حدثني يحيى عن مالك
أن عمرو بن الجموح وعبد الله بن عمرو الأنصاريين ثم السلميين كانا قد حفر السيل قبرهما وكان قبرهما مما يلي السيل وكانا في قبر واحد وهما ممن استشهد يوم أحد فحفر عنهما ليغيرا من مكانهما فوجدا لم يتغيرا كأنهما ماتا بالأمس وكان أحدهما قد جرح فوضع يده على جرحه فدفن وهو كذلك فأميطت يده عن جرحه ثم أرسلت فرجعت كما كانت وكان بين أحد وبين يوم حفر عنهما ست وأربعون سنة
