The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade those who killed Ibn Abu Huqayq from killing women and children. One of them said, "The wife of Ibn Abu Huqayq wore us out with her screaming, so I would raise my sword against her, then I would remember the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ prohibition and hold back. Had it not been for that, we would have rid ourselves of her."
حدثني يحيى عن مالك عن ابن شهاب عن ابن لكعب بن مالك قال حسبت أنه قال
نهى رسول الله ﷺ الذين قتلوا ابن أبي الحقيق عن قتل النساء والولدان قال فكان رجل منهم يقول برحت بنا امرأة ابن أبي الحقيق بالصياح فأرفع السيف عليها ثم أذكر نهي رسول الله ﷺ فأكف ولولا ذلك استرحنا منها
