The last instruction the Prophet ﷺ gave me when he appointed me over Taif was when he said to me, "Uthman, keep the prayer brief and gauge the people by their weakest, for among them are the elderly, the young, the sick, those who have come from afar, and those with pressing needs."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا إسمعيل ابن علية عن محمد بن إسحق عن سعيد بن أبي هند عن مطرف بن عبد الله بن الشخير قال سمعت
كان آخر ما عهد إلي النبي ﷺ حين أمرني على الطائف قال لي يا عثمان تجاوز في الصلاة واقدر الناس بأضعفهم فإن فيهم الكبير والصغير والسقيم والبعيد وذا الحاجة
