The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not race ahead of me in bowing or in prostration. Whatever I get ahead of you in when I bow, you will catch up with me when I rise, and whatever I get ahead of you in when I prostrate, you will catch up with me when I rise. I have grown heavy."
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا سفيان عن ابن عجلان ح و حدثنا أبو بشر بكر بن خلف حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن ابن عجلان عن محمد بن يحيى بن حبان عن ابن محيريز
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تبادروني بالركوع ولا بالسجود فمهما أسبقكم به إذا ركعت تدركوني به إذا رفعت ومهما أسبقكم به إذا سجدت تدركوني به إذا رفعت إني قد بدنت
[Sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on What the One Being Led in Prayer is Commanded to Follow of the Imam, no. 619, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, with this chain, and Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban, and Busiri graded it sahih.
