The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Nothing prolongs life except righteousness, nothing repels destiny except supplication, and indeed a man may be deprived of provision because of a sin he commits."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عبد الله بن عيسى عن عبد الله بن أبي الجعد
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يزيد في العمر إلا البر ولا يرد القدر إلا الدعاء وإن الرجل ليحرم الرزق بخطيئة يعملها
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Nasai reported it in Al-Kubra (Tuhfat Ashraf: 133/2, abridged), and Ahmad: 277/5, 282, from Waki with the same chain, and Iraqi graded it hasan, and part of the hadith has a hasan corroborating narration in Tirmidhi, no. 2139, and this hadith will come again, no. 4022.
