There was a man from the Ansar whose house was the farthest house in Medina, yet he never missed a prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Ubayy said, I felt sorry for him and said, "So-and-so, why don't you buy a donkey to protect you from the burning ground, shield you from rough terrain, and guard you from the vermin of the earth?"He replied, "By Allah, I would not want my house to be next to the house of Muhammad ﷺ."His words weighed heavily on me until I went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned it to him. The Prophet ﷺ called the man and asked him about it, and he said the same thing, explaining that he hoped for reward in his footsteps.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You shall have what you have intended."
حدثنا أحمد بن عبدة حدثنا عباد بن عباد المهلبي حدثنا عاصم الأحول عن أبي عثمان النهدي
كان رجل من الأنصار بيته أقصى بيت بالمدينة وكان لا تخطئه الصلاة مع رسول الله ﷺ قال فتوجعت له فقلت يا فلان لو أنك اشتريت حمارا يقيك الرمض ويرفعك من الوقع ويقيك هوام الأرض فقال والله ما أحب أن بيتي بطنب بيت محمد ﷺ قال فحملت به حملا حتى أتيت النبي ﷺ فذكرت ذلك له فدعاه فسأله فذكر له مثل ذلك وذكر أنه يرجو في أثره فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن لك ما احتسبت
