He was one of the People of the Suffah. He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "Come along."So we set out to Ayesha's house, where we ate and drank. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "If you wish, you may sleep here, or if you prefer, you may go to the mosque."We said, "We will go to the mosque instead."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا الحسن بن موسى حدثنا شيبان بن عبد الرحمن عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن أن
وكان من أصحاب الصفة قال قال لنا رسول الله ﷺ انطلقوا فانطلقنا إلى بيت عائشة وأكلنا وشربنا فقال لنا رسول الله ﷺ إن شئتم نمتم ها هنا وإن شئتم انطلقتم إلى المسجد قال فقلنا بل ننطلق إلى المسجد
[Sahih] Reported by Abu Dawud, Book of Manners, Chapter on a man lying flat on his stomach, no. 5040, from the hadith of Yahya, who said, Abu Salama narrated it to us, in full, and Ibn Hibban declared it sahih, no. 1960. It has a hasan corroborating narration with Ibn Hibban, no. 1959, and Hakim (4/271).
