The Messenger of Allah ﷺ reproached us for staying up talking after the night prayer, meaning he rebuked us for it.

جدب لنا رسول الله ﷺ السمر بعد العشاء يعني زجرنا
[Daif chain]Ahmad narrated it (11/388, 389, 410) from the hadith of Ata with this wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 1340, and so did Ibn Hibban (Al-Ihsan), no. 3031.Busiri said, Ata bin Saaib became confused in his memory toward the end of his life, and Muhammad bin Fudayl transmitted from him after that confusion set in, and likewise all others who transmitted from him. The basic content of the hadith has corroborating narrations with different wording.
