The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My nation will remain upon the natural way as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars intermingle."Abu Abdullah ibn Majah said, I heard Muhammad bin Yahya say, "People in Baghdad were troubled about this hadith, so Abu Bakr al-Ayan and I went to Awwam bin Abbad bin Awwam, and he brought out for us his father's original manuscript, and we found the hadith in it."

قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تزال أمتي على الفطرة ما لم يؤخروا المغرب حتى تشتبك النجوم قال أبو عبد الله بن ماجة سمعت محمد بن يحيى يقول اضطرب الناس في هذا الحديث ببغداد فذهبت أنا وأبو بكر الأعين إلى العوام بن عباد بن العوام فأخرج إلينا أصل أبيه فإذا الحديث فيه
[Hasan] Bayhaqi related it, 1/448, from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Musa through this same route, with the addition of Mamar before Qatada. Qatada and his teacher narrated using "an," but their hadith has corroborating witnesses in Abu Dawud, no. 418, and elsewhere. Busiri graded the hadith hasan.
