The polytheists prevented the Prophet ﷺ from praying the afternoon prayer until the sun had set. He said, "They have kept us from the middle prayer. May Allah fill their graves and their houses with fire."

حبس المشركون النبي ﷺ عن صلاة العصر حتى غابت الشمس فقال حبسونا عن صلاة الوسطى ملأ الله قبورهم وبيوتهم نارا
Narrated by Muslim, Mosques, chapter on the evidence for those who say that the middle prayer is the Asr prayer, no. 628, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Talha, with the same chain.
