The Prophet ﷺ used to pray the noon prayer, which you call Zuhr, when the sun had passed its zenith.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن عوف بن أبي جميلة عن سيار بن سلامة
كان النبي ﷺ يصلي صلاة الهجير التي تدعونها الظهر إذا دحضت الشمس
Bukhari narrated it in "Times of Prayer," in the chapter "What Is Disliked Regarding Staying Up Talking After Isha," hadith no. 599, from the hadith of Yahya. Muslim narrated it in "Mosques," in the chapter "The Recommendation of Praying Fajr Early at the Beginning of Its Time," etc., hadith no. 647, from the hadith of Sayyar Abu Minhal, with this wording.
