The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would become in a state of major ritual impurity, then sleep as he was without touching water.Sufyan said, "I mentioned this hadith one day, and Ismail said to me, 'Young man, this hadith needs something to support it.'"
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن أبي إسحق عن الأسود
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يجنب ثم ينام كهيئته لا يمس ماء قال سفيان فذكرت الحديث يوما فقال لي إسمعيل يا فتى يشد هذا الحديث بشيء
