The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would become in a state of major ritual impurity, then sleep without touching water, and only after rising later would he perform the full ritual bath.
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Purification, chapter on what has been said about a person in a state of major impurity sleeping before performing ghusl, hadith no. 118, from the hadith of Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, transmitted in this manner. Bayhaqi and Ibn Hazm graded it sahih.Abu Ishaq used the ambiguous form "an" in his transmission, but he explicitly stated that he heard it directly in the version recorded by Bayhaqi (2011, 2012). However, the chain leading to him is daif.
