The Prophet ﷺ would get something on his garment, so he would wash that spot from his garment, then he would go out in it to the prayer while I could still see the trace of the washing on it.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عبدة بن سليمان عن عمرو بن ميمون قال سألت سليمان بن يسار عن الثوب يصيبه المني أنغسله أو نغسل الثوب كله قال سليمان
كان النبي ﷺ يصيب ثوبه فيغسله من ثوبه ثم يخرج في ثوبه إلى الصلاة وأنا أرى أثر الغسل فيه
Bukhari transmitted it in the chapter on wudu, the section on washing off semen and rubbing it off and washing what a woman's discharge touches, hadith 229 and 232, and Muslim in the chapter on purification, the section on the ruling on semen, hadith 289, from the hadith of Amr bin Maymun with this wording.
