I saw Saaib bin Yazid smelling his garment, so I asked him, "Why are you doing that?"He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No ablution is required except for a smell or a sound.'"

رأيت السائب بن يزيد يشم ثوبه فقلت مم ذلك قال إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا وضوء إلا من ريح أو سماع
Its isnad is daif. Busiri said, "Abdul-Aziz is daif," and it has a daif corroborating narration in Ahmad (3/426, no. 15591).
