The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever abandons lying when it is false, a palace will be built for him on the outskirts of Paradise. Whoever abandons disputation when he is in the right, a palace will be built for him in its middle. And whoever has good character, a palace will be built for him in its highest part."
[Hasan] Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Righteousness and Kinship Ties, chapter on what has been said about disputation, hadith no. 1993, from the hadith of Ibn Abu Fudayk, and he said, "A hasan hadith." Salama is daif (according to Taqrib). It has a hasan corroborating witness in Abu Dawud, Book of Manners, chapter on good character and other matters, hadith no. 4800.
