The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has one hundred mercies. From them He apportioned a single mercy among all creation, and through it they show compassion to one another, through it they feel tenderness toward each other, and through it the wild beast shows tenderness to its young. He has reserved ninety-nine mercies with which He will show mercy to His servants on the Day of Resurrection."
Its chain of transmission was recorded by Muslim, in the Book of Repentance, chapter on the vastness of Allah's mercy and how it prevails over His wrath, hadith no. 2752/19, from the hadith of Abdul-Malik bin Abu Sulayman, through the same chain.
