The Prophet ﷺ said, "When the appointed time of death for one of you is set in a certain land, a need will arise that compels him to travel there. Once he reaches the furthest point of his journey, Allah, glorified be He, takes his soul. Then on the Day of Resurrection, that land will say, 'My Lord, this is what You entrusted to me.'"
حدثنا أحمد بن ثابت الجحدري وعمر بن شبة بن عبيدة قالا حدثنا عمر بن علي أخبرني إسمعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس بن أبي حازم
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا كان أجل أحدكم بأرض أوثبته إليها الحاجة فإذا بلغ أقصى أثره قبضه الله سبحانه فتقول الأرض يوم القيامة رب هذا ما استودعتني
[Sahih] Reported by Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah, no. 392, from the hadith of Umar bin Ali, transmitted through him, and Busiri graded it sahih. It has corroborating narrations, including the hadith of Matar bin Ukamis, reported by Tirmidhi, no. 2146, who said, hasan gharib, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaikhs, 1/42, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
