The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man praying on a rock. He went to a part of Mecca and stayed for a good while, then returned and found the man still praying as he had been. So he stood, joined his hands together, and said three times, "People, hold to moderation, for Allah does not grow weary until you grow weary."
حدثنا عمرو بن رافع حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الله الأشعري عن عيسى بن جارية
مر رسول الله ﷺ على رجل يصلي على صخرة فأتى ناحية مكة فمكث مليا ثم انصرف فوجد الرجل يصلي على حاله فقام فجمع يديه ثم قال يا أيها الناس عليكم بالقصد ثلاثا فإن الله لا يمل حتى تملوا
[Its chain is hasan] Khatib narrated it in Faqih wal-Mutafaqqih 2/124 through the hadith of Yaqub Ashari with this wording, and Busiri graded it hasan.Isa bin Jariyah's hadith is hasan, as I have established in Nur al-Masabih.
