The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people of Paradise are those whose ears Allah fills with the good praise of people while they hear it, and the people of the Fire are those whose ears are filled with the bad words of people about them while they hear it."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى وزيد بن أخزم قالا حدثنا مسلم بن إبراهيم حدثنا أبو هلال حدثنا عقبة بن أبي ثبيت عن أبي الجوزاء
قال رسول الله ﷺ أهل الجنة من ملأ الله أذنيه من ثناء الناس خيرا وهو يسمع وأهل النار من ملأ أذنيه من ثناء الناس شرا وهو يسمع
[Its isnad is hasan] Tabarani narrated it, 12/170, no. 12787, from the hadith of Muslim bin Ibrahim, with the same chain, and Busiri graded it sahih. It has corroborating narrations in Hakim, 1/378, and elsewhere.
