The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever seeks to be heard, Allah will make him heard, and whoever shows off, Allah will expose him."

[Sahih] Firas narrated it from Atiya with the same wording (Tirmidhi, no. 3381, Ahmad: 3/40). Busiri graded it daif because of Atiya. See no. 4123, and the following hadith serves as a corroborating witness for it.
