They were afflicted by hunger, and they were seven men. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ gave me seven dates, one date for each man."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن عباس الجريري قال سمعت أبا عثمان يحدث
أنهم أصابهم جوع وهم سبعة قال فأعطاني النبي ﷺ سبع تمرات لكل إنسان تمرة
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Foods, chapter on what the Prophet used to eat, no. 5411, 5441, from the hadith of Abbas with this wording, without his saying, "For each person a date."
