I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say repeatedly, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the family of Muhammad has not had a single measure of grain or a single measure of dates by morning." At that time he had nine wives.
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا الحسن بن موسى أنبأنا شيبان عن قتادة
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول مرارا والذي نفس محمد بيده ما أصبح عند آل محمد صاع حب ولا صاع تمر وإن له يومئذ تسع نسوة
[Sahih] Ahmad narrated it, 3/328, from Hasan bin Musa with it at length, and Busiri graded it sahih, as did Hafiz in Fath al-Bari, 11/293, under hadith 6459, and part of it was mentioned earlier at hadith 2437. Bukhari also narrated it at hadith 2508 and 2069 from the hadith of Qatada with it, and it has many corroborating narrations.
