A man passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, "What do you say about this man?"They replied, "Our view of him is that he is among the most honorable of people. If he proposes marriage, he is worthy of being accepted. If he intercedes, his intercession should be granted. And if he speaks, his words deserve to be heard."The Prophet ﷺ remained silent. Then another man passed by, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, "What do you say about this one?"They replied, "By Allah, Messenger of Allah, we say that this man is among the poor of the Muslims. If he proposes marriage, he will not be given anyone in marriage. If he intercedes, his intercession will not be granted. And if he speaks, his words will not be heard."The Prophet ﷺ said, "This man is better than the earth filled with the likes of the other."
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح حدثنا عبد العزيز بن أبي حازم حدثني أبي
مر على رسول الله ﷺ رجل فقال النبي ﷺ ما تقولون في هذا الرجل قالوا رأيك في هذا نقول هذا من أشرف الناس هذا حري إن خطب أن يخطب وإن شفع أن يشفع وإن قال أن يسمع لقوله فسكت النبي ﷺ ومر رجل آخر فقال النبي ﷺ ما تقولون في هذا قالوا نقول والله يا رسول الله هذا من فقراء المسلمين هذا حري إن خطب لم ينكح وإن شفع لا يشفع وإن قال لا يسمع لقوله فقال النبي ﷺ لهذا خير من ملء الأرض مثل هذا
