We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Dhul-Hulayfah when he came upon a dead sheep with its leg raised in the air. He said, "Do you see how worthless this is to its owner? By the One in whose hand my soul rests, this world is more worthless to Allah than this carcass is to its owner. If this world were worth even a mosquito's wing to Allah, He would never give a disbeliever a single drop of water from it."
[Hasan] Reported by Tirmidhi, in Zuhd, chapter on what has been said about the insignificance of this world before Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, hadith no. 2320, from the hadith of Abu Hazim, in a shortened form, and he said, sahih gharib.
