Hassan bin Atiya reported,

Makhul and Ibn Abu Zakariya turned aside to Khalid bin Madan, and I turned aside with them. He then related to us from Jubayr bin Nufayr, who said, "Jubayr said to me, 'Come along with us to Dhi Mikhmar,' who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. So I set out with them, and he questioned him about the truce."Dhi Mikhmar said, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'The Romans will make a peace agreement with you that will be secure. Then you and they together will campaign against an enemy, and you will be granted victory, take spoils, and come away safely. Then you will withdraw until you halt at a meadow with hillocks. There a man from the people of the cross will raise the cross and say, "The cross has triumphed." A man among the Muslims will become angry and rise up to him and smash it. At that point the Romans will break the treaty and gather for the great battle.'"Abdul-Rahman bin Ibrahim Dimashqi related to us, Walid bin Muslim related to us, Uzai related to us from Hassan bin Atiya, with his chain of transmission, something similar, and he added in it, "They will gather for the great battle, and they will come at that time under eighty banners, twelve thousand men under each banner."

عن حسان بن عطية قال

مال مكحول وابن أبي زكريا إلى خالد بن معدان وملت معهما فحدثنا عن جبير بن نفير قال قال لي جبير انطلق بنا إلى ذي مخمر وكان رجلا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ فانطلقت معهما فسأله عن الهدنة فقال سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول ستصالحكم الروم صلحا آمنا ثم تغزون أنتم وهم عدوا فتنتصرون وتغنمون وتسلمون ثم تنصرفون حتى تنزلوا بمرج ذي تلول فيرفع رجل من أهل الصليب الصليب فيقول غلب الصليب فيغضب رجل من المسلمين فيقوم إليه فيدقه فعند ذلك تغدر الروم ويجتمعون للملحمة حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم الدمشقي حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم حدثنا الأوزاعي عن حسان بن عطية بإسناده نحوه وزاد فيه فيجتمعون للملحمة فيأتون حينئذ تحت ثمانين غاية تحت كل غاية اثنا عشر ألفا
