The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Matters will only grow more severe, the world will only turn further away, people will only become more miserly, and the Hour will not arrive except upon the worst of people. There is no Mahdi except Isa, son of Maryam."
Sourcing. [Its chain is daif] Hakim narrated it in Mustadrak (4/441) from the hadith of Yunus with this wording. Dhahabi said, "It is extremely objectionable" (Mizan 4/481), and Nasai and others said the same. It contains four defects, (1) the "an" narration of Hasan Basri, (2) the unidentified status of Jundi, whose reliability has not been established from Ibn Main, as I have verified in my sourcing of Nihayah, hadith no. 107, (3) disagreement in the chain, (4) Aban did not hear from Hasan, as Ibn Salah mentioned in his Amali. Part of the hadith, the first half, has weak corroborating reports.
