The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will be a tribulation that will sweep through the Arabs. Those killed in it will be in the Fire. The tongue in it will be sharper than the strike of the sword."
حدثنا عبد الله بن معاوية الجمحي حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن ليث عن طاوس عن زياد سيمين كوش
قال رسول الله ﷺ تكون فتنة تستنظف العرب قتلاها في النار اللسان فيها أشد من وقع السيف
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapter on Tribulations and Great Battles, section "Restraining the Tongue," no. 4265, from the hadith of Layth bin Abu Salim, no. 208, with this wording. Tirmidhi said, no. 2178, that it is unique. Ziyad Saymin Kush is of unknown status, and there is another defect in it, which I pointed out earlier.
