The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will be tribulation, division, and discord. When that happens, take your sword to Uhud and strike it until it breaks, then sit in your house until a wrongful hand or a decreed death comes to you."So it has come to pass, and I have done what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.

[Hasan]. Ahmad reported it: 3/493, through multiple routes, from Hammad, from Ali bin Zayd, as mentioned previously, no. 116, with the same wording, without any doubt expressed. The hadith has corroborating narrations in Ahmad: 4/225, 226, Abu Dawud, no. 4257, Muslim, no. 2887/13, and others.
