Ali called for water and washed his hands before putting them into the vessel, then said, "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن أبي إسحق
دعا علي بماء فغسل يديه قبل أن يدخلهما الإناء ثم قال هكذا رأيت رسول الله ﷺ صنع
[hasan] It has supporting narrations in Bayhaqi 1/47 and elsewhere. See also hadith no. 95 for its defect, and it has other defects as well, so the chain is daif, but it is hasan due to the supporting narrations.
