The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes from sleep, he should not dip his hand into the vessel until he has washed it."
حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب أخبرني ابن لهيعة وجابر بن إسمعيل عن عقيل عن ابن شهاب
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا استيقظ أحدكم من نومه فلا يدخل يده في الإناء حتى يغسلها
Sahih. Reported by Daraqutni: 1/49, no. 126, and Busiri graded it sahih according to the criteria of Muslim, though there is some question regarding its chain of transmission, and the preceding hadith serves as corroboration for it.
