Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a cloud that looked like it might bring rain, his face would change color and shift, and he would go in and out, come and go. When the rain fell, his unease would leave him.Ayesha mentioned to him something of what she had observed from him, and he replied, "How do you know? Perhaps it is as the people of Hud said, 'When they saw it as a cloud advancing toward their valleys, they said, This is a cloud bringing us rain. Rather, it is that which you sought to hasten'" [Ahqaf 46:24].
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer for Rain, in the chapter on seeking refuge with Allah upon seeing wind and clouds and rejoicing at rain, hadith no. 15/899, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, at greater length.
