The Prophet ﷺ heard me saying, "There is no power and no strength except through Allah."He said, "Abdullah bin Qays, shall I direct you to a phrase that is among the treasures of Paradise?"I replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Say, 'There is no power and no strength except through Allah.'"
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح أنبأنا جرير عن عاصم الأحول عن أبي عثمان
سمعني النبي ﷺ وأنا أقول لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله قال يا عبد الله بن قيس ألا أدلك على كلمة من كنوز الجنة قلت بلى يا رسول الله قال قل لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on jihad and expeditions, in the section on what is disliked regarding raising the voice in takbir, no. 2992, and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on remembrance and supplication, in the section on the desirability of lowering the voice during remembrance, etc, no. 44/2704, from the hadith of Asim, through the same chain.
